Sparkling Wines for the Holidays
Sparkling wines can range from very dry to quite sweet. You can find a sparkler to complement every food. The sweet sparklers such as asti spumante are best saved to pair with desserts. The driest champagne is labeled as brut; extra dry is a little less dry; dry is even less dry. Demi-sec is sweet, but not as sweet as a dessert wine or an asti.

How to Make Stuffed Mushrooms
Easy Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe
Learn how to make stuffed mushrooms with this easy stuffed mushrooms recipe. Yummy! Stuffed mushrooms is a fantastic appetizer for a party or dinner.
This is Steve's absolutely favorite appetizer so we make it often. When we have a large party, we will prepare the stuffing mixture in advance and freeze. The day of the party we thaw the the stuffing mixture out and scoop into fresh mushrooms. If you like mushrooms, you will want to try this stuffed mushroom recipe!
Wine Pairing: Pinot Noir is always a good wine choice to go with mushrooms. Drink the same wine that you use in preparing the stuffed mushrooms to serve with the dish. One of my favorite Pinot Noirs is Eyrie Pinot Noir Estate from the Williamette Valley of Oregon. This is an elegant Pinot Noir with marvelous flavors of blackberry and spice that will only make the mushrooms taste even better.
Ingredients: 1 pound mushrooms 3 Tablespoons melted butter 8 Tablespoons soft butter 2 cloves of minced garlic 6 Tablespoons of shredded Jack cheese 4 Tablespoons of Pinot Noir 2 teaspoons soy sauce 2/3 cup finely crushed cracker crumbs
Instructions: 1. Remove stems from mushrooms. 2. Brush mushrooms with melted butter. 3. Mix together the soft butter, garlic, and cheese. 4. Add wine, soy sauce, and cracker crumbs and blend to make a paste. 5. Fill mushrooms with this mixture. 6. Set in a baking pan and broil for about 3 minutes until hot and bubbly.
