Mendocino Botanical Gardens

Situated on 47 acres along Highway 1 in Fort Bragg, Mendocino Botanical Gardens is one of the top attractions in Mendocino County. Meander the trails to explore this beautiful garden by the ocean. Facilities include the expansive gardens, a small cafe, gift shop, and a nursery that sells plants.

Enjoy a variety of flowers, shrubs, and trees including begonias, fuchsias, dahlias, cactus, rhododendrons, and vegetables.



The main trails through the gardens are handicapped accessible. Electric carts are available for those who can use them. This is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Dogs are welcomed, but must be on a leash.

Spring is the best time to visit to catch the colorful blooms. Time your visit for late April through September, if possible. The gardens are open daily from 9-5 March through October and from 9-4 November through February.




Sea Bird

Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens

Plan for at least two hours to explore the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera. The one complaint that some have about these gardens is the admission fee. Get your money's worth by bringing a picnic lunch.




Pacific Ocean - Mendocino

Treat yourself to a scenic walk all the way to the ocean. Sit and watch the waves crashing below. It's the perfect place for a picnic with the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. Relax on a bench or visit the Cliff House overlooking the ocean. It's an observation room for enjoying the view in comfort.

Directions to the Gardens:
Gardens are located on the west side of Highway 1. From Mendocino travel 7 miles north. Gardens will be on the left. From Fort Bragg travel 2 miles south. The gardens will be on your right.

From San Francisco, take Highway 101 north. Turn west on Highway 20. Turn south on Highway 1. The Gardens will be on the right.
