Nojoqui Falls

Nojoqui Falls

Nojoqui Falls is located 7 miles southwest of downtown Solvang. It's a short hike (.6 miles roundtrip) up a well maintained trail to the falls. It's an easy hike for all ages and perfect for young children. Dogs are allowed on a leash.

The falls have an 80 foot drop over a stone wall. The fern lined water is beautiful, but you need to visit during the winter or early spring or the water will have dried up. I hiked this trail in August and there wasn't a drop of water.

Hike in and out, sticking to the trail. Even when the falls aren't flowing, this is a lovely hike through a shady canyon. The elevation gain is 225 feet.

The falls are part of Nojoqui Falls Park operated by the County of Santa Barbara. Entrance into the park is free. Facilities available include baseball fields, BBQ grills, picnic tables, children's playground, bathrooms, and group picnic areas.

Nojoqui Falls County Park

This county park is a short mile and a half drive from Highway 101; a convenient stop for travelers to take a break and stretch their legs. Nojoqui, by the way, is a Chumash word pronounced "no-HOO-wee".
