Clarksburg Wineries

Enjoy wine tasting at Clarksburg wineries. The Clarksburg Wine Appellation is located in the Sacramento River Delta in California's Central Valley.

This area is characterized by hot summer days and cool nights. The growing season is long and dry. More than 25 varieties of wine grapes grow in this region.

The recently opened Old Sugar Mill near Clarksburg is home to the wine tasting rooms of 5 area wineries. Other wineries are scattered around this area. Come sample some great wines in this scenic Delta region.

California Cellars is a small family owned winery that grows all of their own grapes. Their Select Harvest Petite Sirah Port recently won Double Gold at the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Other wines include Chardonnay, Gewurtraminer, Merlot, Malbec, and Old Vine Zinfandel.

This family owned winery specializes in the production of small-lot handcrafted wines. Their winery and tasting room is at the Old Sugar Mill, where you can also sample the wines from four other Clarksburg wineries. The Old Sugar Mill is a great destination for wine tasting. It's located just 17 south of downtown Sacramento along the Sacramento River Delta.

This family owned winery was established in 2001. Wines include Chenin Blanc, Petite Sirah, Pinto Grigio, Verdelho, Moscato, and a variety of interesting blends.

Heringer Estates is a small family run winery. Wines include Petite Sirah Port, Petite Sirah, Barbera, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc. Our favorite is the Petite Sirah Port with its luscious aromas of cherries and blueberries. This is one of five Clarksburg wineries with tasting rooms in the Old Sugar Mill.

Solomon Wine Company produces a large variety of wines under three different brands: Garsa, Cloud 9, and Muse. They have a tasting room in downtown Murphys in Calaveras County as well as the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg.

Todd Taylor Wines specializes in single vineyard designated wines. These handcrafted wines include Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Syrah, Primitivo, and Cabernet Sauvignon. This tasting room is one of five Clarksburg wineries that are located in the Old Sugar Mill. They make some great wines.
