Alexander Valley Wineries are known for the premium Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel and Chardonnay they produce. However, Alexander Valley's growers and wineries produce many other varietals such as Viognier, Pinot Blanc, Shiraz and Sangiovese.

In addition to its reputation for high quality wines, this region of Sonoma County's Wine Country is also noted for its beauty. The valley is twenty two miles long and varies in width from two to seven miles. The Alexander Valley viticultural area includes approximately 75,000 acres. Over 13,000 of those acres are currently planted with premium wine grapes.

Meeker Vineyards specializes in red wines. The only exception is Tutu Luna, an ice-wine-style dessert wine featuring a blend of Muscat, Chenin Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Meeker's tasting room is currently located in the 100-year-old Geyserville Bank Building in the farm town of Geyserville, about six miles north of Healdsburg.
