This California bed and breakfast Cambria has an ideal location on the California coast. Just across the street guests can wander the seaside walking trails meandering in both directions. Binoculars are provided to guests for viewing the coastal wildlife. You might spot a sea lion, seal, sea otter, or even a whale as well as a variety of birds. We recently stayed at the Blue Whale Inn on our way down to San Diego to visit with our daughter, Melissa. The only thing we regretted about our stay was that it was a one night stop. Next time we will definitely stay longer. As we checked in, we were greeted warmly by the hosts, Jay and Karen. They helped us with our bags, offered us tea, and showed us to our rooms. 
The room was lovely. It was immaculate and tastefully decorated. We loved the fireplace, which came on instantly with the flick of a switch. The marble bathroom came with a Jacuzzi tub and soft robes. 
After a walk along the beach, we enjoyed appetizers in the lounge. The appetizers (stuffed mushrooms, artichoke dip, gourmet cheese, and crackers) were prepared by Karen and they were delicious. It was fun talking with the other guests and our hosts and the appetizer hour was over before we knew it.There are binders in the lobby with menus of local restaurants. We made reservations at Madeline's, which Jay highly recommended. It was so fabulous that we have recommended Madeline’s on our restaurant page. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed a quiet night’s sleep. The next morning we were treated to a delightful breakfast prepared by Karen and served by Jay. 
If you are going to California’s central coast, we highly recommend Blue Whale Inn. This California bed and breakfast Cambria provides excellent lodging. It is very deserving of its 4 diamond rating from the Automobile Association of America.This inn is a short drive from the famous Hearst Castle and is located in the heart of California's Central Coast Wine Region . Directions from Hwy. 1: Turn west onto Weymouth Street. Turn right onto Moonstone. Continue on Moonstone until you see The Blue Whale Inn on the right. A great place to stay while wine tasting or visiting Hearst Castle.
